Jerusalem | Attending a Special Event at the Candle of Remembrance Monument on Holocaust Remembrance Day

On January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a special event was held in Jerusalem at the Candle of Remembrance Monument to commemorate the countless victims of the Holocaust. The ceremony was attended by members of the Knesset of the current and previous convocations, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of various public organizations in Israel.

It was organized by the Veterans Union of World War II – Fighters Against Nazism and the KKL Jewish National Fond JNF, with support from the Jerusalem Municipality. This day marks the Auschwitz concentration camp’s liberation and the Leningrad blockade’s breaking. This serves as a reminder of the six million Jews who were tragically exterminated during World War II and the millions of soldiers who gave their lives to liberate Auschwitz and all of the extermination concentration camps.

27 января, в Международный день памяти жертв Холокоста, в Иерусалиме у памятника «Свеча памяти» состоялось специальное мероприятие, посвященное памяти бесчисленных жертв Холокоста. В церемонии приняли участие депутаты Кнессета текущего и предыдущего созывов, члены дипломатического корпуса, а также представители различных общественных организаций Израиля.

Он был организован Союзом ветеранов Второй мировой войны – борцов с нацизмом и Еврейским национальным фондом KKL JNF при поддержке муниципалитета Иерусалима. Это служит напоминанием о шести миллионах евреев, трагически уничтоженных во время Второй мировой войны, и о миллионах солдат, отдавших свои жизни за освобождение Освенцима и всех концентрационных лагерей смерти.
