Israeli trucks were spotted driving on Israel’s northern roads on their way to deliver aid to the Druze in Syria, and a sign was waving on the back of the truck with the headline, “Humanitarian Aid to Our Druze Brothers in Syria, the Strategic Asset of the Justice and Peace Loving State of Israel,” the story behind the aid delivery.
Those who stand behind the largest and most important donation are the members Association in Israel, whose members are Druze and Jews, and they have been working for a long time for the benefit of Holocaust survivors and in the past year for the benefit of the Druze in Syria.
The Association raises donations from around the world. The aid is transferred to places experiencing distress and war zones, mainly to civilians.
The Druze members of the association from Israel are talking about the establishment of a hospital in the Heder area in Syria, where there will be 250 beds with all the necessary equipment, funded and fully assisted by the Association.
We spoke with one member of the association from the Carmel villages, who prefers to remain anonymous at this stage. He told us: “It is not easy to raise funds for the benefit of the Druze community from countries around the world, but we managed to connect and convince the Association to direct aid to the Druze brothers in Syria, to help them overcome the severe hardship they have been in over the past year, especially after the massacre that took place in the Sweida area. So far, $1.5 million has been raised; we still need another $1.5 million. The Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the IDF Civil Defense, led by Major General Ghassan Alian, are lending a shoulder and helping with whatever is needed. This is not the first time that the German GAiN association has sent aid to the Druze in Syria.”
“The assistance that was transferred to the logistics center in the Golan Heights contained high-quality clothing and footwear, suitable for winter for all ages. The logistics center unloads the contents of the shipment, and by all means, the shipment passes into the hands of the Druze in the center of Sweida in Syria without any malfunctions or disruptions.”
